Remembrance Sunday is held on the second Sunday in November to remember all those who have given their lives for the peace and freedom we enjoy today.
Approximate timings for Remembrance Sunday parade on 10 November 2024
• c.14.00pm – Roads around the War Memorial are closed
• c.14.25pm – Band and parade “steps off” and marches to and around the War Memorial
• c.14.30pm – The ceremony including wreath laying starts with representatives of the King, MP, councils, members of the armed services, local schools and youth groups
• c.14.50pm – The parade moves to St Peters Church for service
• c.15.45pm – The parade marches to New Street and salutes in front of the Great Hall
Roads around the War Memorial will close from approx. 14.00pm until the parade moves to St Peters Church for the service.
