SOUTHWICK IN BLOOM
OPEN DAY at Southwick Hall – with new exhibitions, bags of history and a springtime splash of our little-touched nature.
Latest exhibitions include:
an expanded Southwick at War – always a favourite, focusing on the remarkable men and women based here during the Blitz (Land Girls, evacuees, airmen…)
a Victorian schoolboy’s writing box – with his doodles, football rules book (yes, Offside included), wax seal kit and real moleskin (guess what for?)
Artist Penny Reading, whose striking and diverse work (landscapes, portraits, still life, abstract) hangs against the Medieval stone in the Crypt
Plus Hannah’s fabled cakes for sustenance, all the way from her Yarwell shack up the Nene.
