The Talbot Hotel, Eatery and Coffee House is one of the town's principal buildings dating from the 7th Century and was one of the first buildings in England to be classified as a grade 1 heritage property. The Talbot re-opened in 2012 following an extensive refurbishment and restoration programme agreed with English Heritage and now offers 34 bedroom suites where 21st c facilities rub shoulders with history.

The Eatery at the Talbot Hotel is fast gaining a reputation for its cuisine and delightful surroundings. The Coffee House with its patisserie offers a true high street coffee experience, and our bar provides a welcoming sanctuary to stop and enjoy a drink at any time of the day.
