Markets in Oundle

Nothing quite matches the unique atmosphere of colourful outdoor market and in Oundle you will find regular well stocked open-air markets in the attractive Market Place; whether it is the Weekly Market, the monthly Farmers Market or as part of a festival or travelling speciality market.

Oundle has a long and proud tradition of holding markets with its Market Charter being signed in 972AD as mentioned in the Domesday book.

These days Oundle Town Council owns the market rights for the town and has responsibility for managing them.

The Weekly Market

Every Thursday you will find a well stocked street market manned by regular local retailers within the town’s Market Place.

The largest and one of the most popular reglars is the Fruit & Veg Stall offering a variety of keenly priced fresh fruit and vegetables. Other stallls you will normally find are: Houshold Goods, Flowers & Plants, Fish, Pet Food and also the Watch Repair man.

The Farmers Market

On the second Saturday of each month Oundle Farmers’ Market is held from 8am to 2pm where local produce is sold direct to the public.

This popular market allows residents and visitors the oportunity to buy direct from the farmer, grower or producer and enjoy fresh, quality products whilst supporting local.

With up to 40 stalls there’s a huge range of local produce to choose from including vegetables, fruit, meat, eggs, bread and cakes, fruit juices and dairy products. Most stall holders have grown, bred, caught, pickled, brewed or baked the goods themselves and are based in the local area.
