Fifty Mysterious Postcards

Kathryn Baird is a member of Oundle and District u3a and has recently published ‘Fifty Mysterious Postcards: Pitman Shorthand Messages from the Golden Age of the Postcard’. Kathryn learned to write Pitman Shorthand in the 1970s and taught it in the 1980s. In 1984 she bought a postcard with a message written in Pitman and since then she has collected nearly 400 such postcards.

Her talk will give us a fascinating glimpse of this forgotten world.
