Therapeutic Pastoral Mentor

Job Description:

Oundle School is seeking Therapeutic Pastoral Mentor to provide emotional support at Oundle School and Laxton Junior School for pupils aged from 4-18 years old.

THE ROLE
This role requires qualified, non-judgmental, empathetic and easy-to-access support for pupils who are struggling with lower level emotional/mental health difficulties. The Therapeutic Pastoral Mentor provides emotional support at Oundle School and Laxton Junior School, including developing coping strategies and identifying personal resources for pupils aged from 4-18 years old.

Working weeks: This role is to work 33 weeks per year. Inclusive of holiday, you will be paid for 38.6 weeks.
Hours of work: 30 hours per week. All meal breaks are non-working hours and unpaid.
Salary: £21,851 (£39,249 FTE)

THE SCHOOL
Oundle and Laxton Junior Schools have long been associated with the very best of modern independent education, especially boarding. Over 1400 pupils are on roll at the School, of whom 840 are full boarders. Academic results are steadfastly excellent.

The town has a spirited cultural life, with an annual international festival, literature festival, and frequent performances of nationally touring shows at the School’s Stahl Theatre.
